Rideau Arcott Sheep
We are excited to offer Rideau Arcott sheep for sale in the United States. This Canadian breed is known for its propensity for consistently lambing in multiples. In our first year of raising Rideaus, nearly half of all births were triplets. Ewes have a strong mothering instinct, and are capable of milk production to rear multiples. Mature ewes can lamb every 8 months and average 2.5 lambs per birth. Lambs grow rapidly and can reach 100lbs within 100 -120 days.
Eggs
Raising hens for eggs was our gateway into livestock. We started with a backyard flock of about 8 chickens which has now grown to nearly 80. Hens produce large brown, green or blue eggs. Our chickens are fed high quality grain but also free range in pastures to forage for greens and insects to their hearts' content!
Turkeys
Available this fall we will have Broad Breasted White Turkeys available. They are raised on pasture and are sure to be a great addition to your holiday preparations. If your interested please register for a bird or our newsletter to stay informed as they grow.
Katahdin Sheep
Katahdin were our starter sheep they have been great. Parasite resistant, good mothers, and overall easy keepers. We sell them as market lambs or breeding stock. They are also available for custom grazing.
